The Sundering

At some unknown point, and for some unknown reason, the gods became separated from the material plane, and in doing so, the beings by which they are worshipped. Though separated, they have lost none of their divinity and as such, their reach is long. Though they do not directly intervene in the prime material themselves, their touch is felt through the divine magics of those who dedicate their lives to service of their divine wills.
